Sticks and Stories

In June 2023, we hosted a workshop for reception-school children at Rickmansworth JMI Primary School as part of the RIBA Architecture Ambassador program.

The day centred on how architects and landscape architects are storytellers, imagining new and possible futures for people, animals and critters.

Through big collaborative drawings, model making, character creation and more storytelling, we imagined a mythical creature's home – what they would need and like.

The day culminated in creating a giant landscape of all the homes into a big city. The children went on to make new connections between the homes, so that all the characters were able to play together.
