Raglan Street

Periscope worked together with Mikhail Riches for Camden Council, to support the design and delivery of 18 new affordable homes on Raglan Street Estate as part of Camden’s New Homes for Small Sites programme. The green areas of the Estate were previously underutilised, inviting anti-social behaviour and a sense of unease. Safe green space for residents, where all ages feel safe to dwell, promoting activation, clear lines of sight and maximising green areas as much as possible have been the key drivers of the design from the outset. The proposed planting draws inspiration from the local landscape character of the Hampstead Ridge, with its dry heathland environments, aiming to create a colourful, greener courtyard with sensory species and herbal shrubs for residents’ use.
